Autism Spectrum Disorder Testing

Should my child be evaluated for Autism Spectrum Disorder?

We have trained clinicians to administer the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule- Second Edition (ADOS-2). The ADOS-2 is a standardized assessment tool used to clinically diagnose autism spectrum disorder. The ADOS-2 is appropriate across age-levels and varying language skills. Some symptoms of Autism Spectrum Disorder may include difficulty with social interactions, difficulty with verbal and nonverbal communications, repetitive behaviors or restricted interests, poor social interactions and minimal or nonexistent imaginative play. Assessments last typically between 40-60 minutes.

Reasons to pursue testing:

  • Rarely using language to communicate with other people

  • Not speaking at all

  • Rarely responding when spoken to

  • Not sharing interests or achievements with parents

  • Rarely using or understanding gestures like pointing or waving

  • Using only limited facial expressions to communicate
