Spring Break Activiities

Worried your child will lose everything they’ve learned over spring break? Try not to stress—one week away from school won’t cause long-term setbacks. In fact, a break can often be just what your child needs to recharge and reset!


If you’re looking for simple ways to keep your child engaged (and off the couch), here are a few fun activities to challenge their skills and keep them in school shape:


Spring Scavenger Hunt Create a list of items to find (flower bud, bird, something yellow, a smooth rock). 


Skills built: vocabulary, descriptive language, observation, attention.


 Backyard Science Experiments

  • Grow seeds in a clear cup

  • Make a baking soda volcano

  • Test what sinks or floats 


Skills built: prediction, sequencing, problem-solving.


Vacation Postcards Write and mail postcards to friends or family. 


Skills built: handwriting, sentence formation, communication.


Story Building Game Take turns adding one sentence to create a silly story. 


Skills built: creativity, listening, turn-taking.


Build a Fort or Obstacle Course Create a pillow fort or indoor obstacle path.


Skills built: gross motor skills, problem-solving, teamwork.

“Restaurant Day” at Home Kids take orders, write menus, and serve food.
